2:1 Group Leader Update for 7/26/2008

Hi all – hope you’ve had a good week and haven’t been a slug like me!  Distance for Saturday is 6.7 (thank you, Nicole, for tracking this distance last week) – the regular college loop plus the loop to the water stop at Ben Loon and back.  This would be a good time to start bringing an electrolyte replacement gel (or Shox Blox) with you – Gu, Hammer, Crank, Gatorade are a few of the ones available.  They come in MANY different flavors and need to be taken with water – the water helps them get absorbed into your system quickly.  It’ll help you get used to using something like this so during our longer runs, your body will accept these nutrients without protest.

Don’t forget – you should be hydrating!  As well, eat something before you come out on Saturday – a banana, a cold baked potato, some cantaloupe – you don’t need to eat a lot – just something in your stomach to help you through your run.

See you Saturday.
