Program Directors’ Update for 7/12/2008 Run

Good Wednesday to you!

We are on the downhill again to our Saturday running day.  The best day of the week!!!  Brush off your running shoes after many of us took the day off last week for our nation’s birthday.  We hope you all had a fun long weekend and celebrated with family and friends.  Now it is time to get back to your running friends.

Speaking of shoes, don’t forget to bring in your lightly loved running shoes for Joan this weekend.  She is collecting them for the migrant workers.  They should be clean.  As Iris says, they may have seen their last running days, but will bring a smile to someone else’s feet.

If you haven’t received your singlet as yet, Iris now has some large and extra large men’s singlets.  Just speak and you will receive.

Elizabeth will be providing the hydration coolers this weekend.  Thank you, Elizabeth.

Be sure to let your group leader know if you are running earlier than 6 am on any of the mornings.  It is policy with Jeff Galloway Running that you should not run alone.  We want you to be safe!

Some of you may want to take advantage of water running during these hot days.  If you have access to a pool, the water’s resistance can actually strengthen your reserve muscles and you get great cardiovascular training sessions without any pounding.  If you have an injury, water running can help to heal while alternate muscles are used in the water.  It is worth a try.  Look on page 176 in Jeff Galloway’s Marathon book to get more info on how to run in water.

Come on out and enjoy the fun this Saturday at 5:50 am. Bring a friend.  All are welcomed.   Check out our web site at www.tampa262.com to view the group leader emails for the week.

  Happy running!

Linda and Iris
