3:1 Group Leader Update for 8/30/3008

Hello all,

This week is a low mileage week for Marine Corps marathon and New York.   You should probably keep your base of 10, but if you all only do 8 (depending on the heat) you should be fine also.   As I mentioned last weekend, I will not be in TT this weekend, but Iris should be back and bronzed (from her stay at the beach) and Mary and Charlene will be back and well rested from their stay in Ouray.  Mary won 1st in her age group at a 5K in Denver during her trip.   How great is that !!!

Just to let those who weren’t there know.  Maria did fantastic on her 18 mile journey.  She ran 8.5 with Roxanne and then I met her at the 10 mile mark and we ran an additional 9.5.    She never complained once.    It was pretty hot and we did walk one of our runs, but that was it for taking it easy.   We continued 3:1 pace (about 12:00/mile) the entire time.    I told her about the ice bath that would be needed once she got home, so I hope that helped.   I have to admit, I was a bit sore on Sunday myself.

See you all in September….yes it is almost September, it is amazing how time flies.

Janet
