And it honestly looks possibly like we might even be able to wear sleeves! Woot!!!!! Woot!!!!! Don't quote me on that, but today I saw it on the weather channel again: lower temps Friday and Saturday and even a teensy bit on Sunday. I could hardly contain my glee, let alone my amazement.
So the big announcement is: LAST LONG MILES FOR DISNEY.........
This is the plan right now. Disney marathoners will be meeting at 4 a.m. to start their trek towards 24-26 miles. Jan, will be joining in to complete 20 miles towards her Celebration Marathon goal. Please mark the time marathoners: 4 a.m. If there is a change to an earlier time, which, weather permitting, won't be necessary, I will clarify by Thursday latest. Goofeys and Dopeys will be joining for our 12 miler at a later time. That being said it is extremely important that Cinthya, Jan and Charlene respond and make note of the time. In our 30:30 group these are the only marathoners and if you're in this group arriving at 4 a.m., it is really important that you show up on time and ready to rock. No running alone. Also, please be aware that hydration will not be out at that hour, and make arrangements to either carry your own or use TT's available resources; i.e., water fountains at the College and golf course, as well as at the country club by the rest rooms. And don't change anything you've been doing up to this point. Hopefully, you've pretty much got the clothes/shoe/sock/interval timing/Garmin issues taken care of. If you're using a Garmin to track, this might be a good time to give it a go, remember you need to also carry your phone if you're using the Garmin 220 or other enabled Garmin.
Goofeys/Dopeys will be coming in at 5:50 a.m. to join with their marathoning mouse friends. We will be looking to score 12 miles. Unless there is a change, this is including Susan and Iris. Mary and MER will not be joining us due to conflicting schedules. We'll be keeping in touch via phone so we can meet up without taking the marathoners off the course and messing with their mojo.
Goofeys/Dopeys will be completing their 24 miles on Sunday. We're treating this as a simulation of the real deal (or close to it).
If you're coming at 5:50 to run your regular or taper miles, then please be right on time in the parking lot, and be sure to REPLY ALL as we will not be waiting.
Congratulations to Edgar! for completing the Galloway 13.1 in Atlanta last Sunday. Hooray! You did it!!! And way-to-go-Melanie: 15 half marathons down in 2015!
See you Saturday! Have a great rest of the week, and let's check out some of those shirts we have with sleeves.....dare I dream??!! This is going to be some kinda fun!!!!
Iris, MER and Janet
P.S. If you need my cell phone number to contact me regarding Saturday, please email me and I will send it to you.
